Prepare for Liftoff

An American condor prepares to take off at Grand Canyon National Park. I had to wait over an hour for this shot. He parked himself on that rock and did not want to move. Worth it, but I wish he had flown off earlier -- the sun had sunk low enough that he ended up with a shadow on his tail.
